What it is About
Music
Part one
I listen to music for the magic it brings from inside.
It reaches out from the realms of someone's mind
And shows the secrets no one would confide
In a friend or even a family member.
A thought so near
You can hear
How it feels,
When it's chord has been played.
I love to listen to poetry
With a beat and guitar and some bass.
I think it's the ultimate path to go by
To get up in somebody's face,
When you've got something on your mind
That you've been thinking about too much.
And it's good to remind
Old people when they've got out of touch.
Or even the young ones;
When they don't quite yet know,
What it all means-that goes on around them.
Or do they just think it's a show?
Music is, to so many people,
What keeps them going from one day to the next.
Music is an expression of feeling.
Nothing else can you ever expect.

What
it is About Music
Part two
I don't know if I can remember
When I happened along with the taste
For good music as I wake up in the morning
Complimented by a burst of minty toothpaste.
It really makes the day go by so nice.
My prescription for a morning
Comes from years and years of testing.
I've recently come to the conclusion
That it even improves your resting.
By listening to music by night, asleep;
Your dreamscape's landmarks come alive.
So you shouldn't expect just some sheep,
As your subconscious reveals what's inside.
When your mind is massaged by the wavelengths
Soaring through your thoughts;
The images come to life almost at will
That tell you what it is you had ought
To do before leaving this place we now sit on,
This place that we now live in,
This grace we have been given.
Let us all be dreamers, just let the band play on.
